ITINERARY

Day 1: Departure from Kathmandu, Nepal You will meet as a travel group at the Tribhuvan International Airport of Kathmandu. Together you will check-in, cross the security check and board onto your plane. You will fly with Qatar Airlines. After a stop-over in Doha you will continue your flight to Munich, Germany.

Day 2: Arrival in Munich, Germany While your plane is slowly descending you can see the typical german villages with red roof tops and the many fields which look just like a tibetan carpet. Upon arrival in Munich you can breath the fresh air and start your exciting trip of Europe. You will get picked up directly at the airport by your english (nepali?) speaking tour guide holding up the „Shangrilaya Aktivreisen“ singboard. The suburban train will take you directly to the city centre and you will get the first glimpse of the beautiful and traditional bavarian capital. You will check in at your hotel (Ibis München City Arnulfpark). In the evening you may enjoy a dinner at the Yak & Yeti Himalayan Food House not far away.


Day 3: Sightseeing in Munich After a hearty breakfast you will start your sightseeing tour of Munich. Together with your tour guide you will walk down a popular shopping street until you reaxh the heart of the city, the famous Marienplatz with the Frauenkirche (church) right next to it. You will stroll over the Victuals Market where you can see local food, exotic fruits, drinks and flowers. You will stop by the best known beer brewery and hall, the Hofbräuhaus, where you can taste the typical bavarian beer (non alcoholic beer is available). You will continue your walk via the Munich Residenz and take a walk through the English Garden. It is a vast and refreshing park with beautiful creeks where you can have a picknick or lunch at the beer garden next to the Chinese tower. After a short lunch break, you will take the tram to the Olympiapark. From there you may visit the BMW Museum. (Opon request you can also visit the soccer arena of the FC Bayern soccer team called Allianz Arena!) In the evening you will return to your hotel and take your dinner at the nearby Indian Restaurant.


Day 4: Drive to Zürich by Bus, Switzerland In the morning you will head off to the ZOB (Central Bus Station) not far from your hotel in Munich. You will get on the bus and in less than 4 hours you will have crossed the boarder and entered Switzerland in Zürich. Upon arrival you will be transfered to your hotel. Zürich, with its colorful old town is the perfect place to wander around, dine on fondue or go shopping. The Limmat River runs right through the small and compact city center, flowing into the Lake Zürich. The church steeples of Grossmünster and Fraumünster dominate the skyline, and a maze of narrow, cobblestoned streets course through the old town, making this the perfect place for a leisurely stroll. You can enjoy a free afternoon and evening.


Day 5: Sightseeing in Zürich In the morning you will start your sightseeing program accompanied by your tour guide. You will dive deep into the old historic center of Zürich. The narrow, pedestrian only streets are lined with shops, restaurants, hotels and private homes. The Limmat River divides the old town into two sections connected by a series of bridges. Most certainly you will crisscross back and forth as you explore the pitoresque old town. You will visit the landmarks Grossmünster and Fraumünster Church. At the latter church you can marvel at the stained-glass windows designed by Marc Chagall. You will catch a glimpse of Niederdorf (also called Dörfli by the locals) which is famous for ist nightlife and scenic side streets. You may explore the Museum of Art (Kunsthaus Zürich) where one can see 4,000 paintings and sculptures from the Middle Ages to present day. This collection includes art by Claude Monet, Edvard Munch, Vincent Van Gogh and Pablo Picasso. You will continue and work your way to Bahnhofstraße - home to Dior, Chanel, Louis Vuitton, Hermès, and Prada. This is one of the most expensive shopping streets in the world. This street starts at the central train station (Hauptbahnhof) and ends near Lake Zürich where you will finish off today‘s sightseeing tour.

Day 6: Bus Drive to Milan, Italy A 4-5 hours bus drive will take you to Milan, famous for its world-class art, high fashion and stunning architecture. You will have enough time to visit the Piazza del Duomo and enjoy the typical atmosphere at a highly frequented italian square. The Piazza del Duomo is characterized by the world’s largest Gothic cathedral. From there you can easily walk to the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II. Feel free to do some (window) shopping at this beautiful mall with its intricate stonework and elaborate glass domes. You will spend the night at a hotel in Milan.


Day 7: Bus Drive to Pisa, Italy Today you will take the bus to Pisa. After a 7 hours drive through Northern Italy you will be happy to arrive in the Heart of Tuscany. Pisa is one of the most famous cities due to the iconic Leaning Tour and a must-stop on your itinerary while touring Europe.



Day 8: Sightseeing in Pisa After some Italian coffee and breakfast you will start your sightseeing program. Once a major seaport, nowadays Pisa is known for its Leaning Tower. However, this lovely city has a lot more to offer. You will be surprised to see that the Leaning Tower is just a part of a huge religious complex. Right next to the Tower, you’ll find an impressive cathedral and baptistery. Enjoy your time visiting Pisa and take as many pictures as you want.


Day 9: Flight to Paris, France You will catch your plane from Pisa to Paris. When descending you will get a first impression of the vast french capital. You will be taken to your hotel (Motel One Paris-Porte Dorée) where you can freshen up, relax and then go out for Italian pizza near your hotel.



Day 10: Sightseeing in Paris Today you will enjoy the european captial of art, fashion, gastronomy and culture. Its 19th-century cityscape is crisscrossed by wide boulevards and the River Seine. You will start off your tour at the Il de la Cite, the island in the middle of the River Seine. There you can see the landmark Notre Dame Church which got extremely damaged in a terrible fire in 2019. You will head to the beautiful Luxembourg Gardens where people gather for picnic, playing cards, dancing tictoc, doing yoga or just some quiet book reading. Through the St. Germain quarter you will make your way to the Louvre Museum. After a few pictures next to the glass pyramid you may enter the musem to catch a glimpse of the Mona Lisa. To finish off today‘s sightseeing tour you will head to the Trocadero Gardens in time for sunset. It offers the best views of the Eiffel Tour light up against the night sky. You can enjoy the evening while having dinner at an indian restaurant.


Day 11: Flight to Frankfurt You will catch your plane from Paris to Frankfurt. Upon arrival you will be transfered to your hotel (?). In the afternoon you can take your time to explore the city center. Start off your walk at the main train station and pass the sky scrapers of the finacial district. Then head off tot he heart of Frankfurt’s Inner City and visit the Römerberg, Frankfurt's Old Town Center. The Römerberg is an irregularly shaped square with the Justice Fountain (Gerechtigkeitsbrunnen) at its center. Not only is it Frankfurt's most picturesque public square, it's the city's busiest pedestrian zone and home to numerous tourist attractions and fun things to do, including Christmas markets and other events.

Day 12: Sightseeing in Heidelberg After breakfast you will take the train and after about one hour you will arrive in Heidelberg. It is one of the most romantic cities in Germany, thanks to its picturesque riverside location, its beautiful old buildings and bridges, and the castle ruins that overlook the town center. Be prepared for a beautiful but long walking tour. Enjoy the stunning views from the Philisophers‘ Way and head down to the Old Karl Theodor Bridge. Then walk your way up to the Heidelberg Castle. Built of red Neckar sandstone on the terraced hillside nearly 200 meters directly above Heidelberg's Old Town, this 16th-century castle is one of the best examples of German Renaissance architecture. In the afternoon you can see the bustling Old Town. Hauptstrasse is the place to start exploring your walk. From this narrow main street, you'll find countless even narrower side streets and alleyways just begging to be explored, each bursting with things to see: unspoiled medieval architecture, splendid old churches, boutique shops, galleries, cafés, and restaurants. In the early evening you will take the train back to Frankfurt.



Day 13: Return Flight to Kathmandu Today you will get transfered to Frankfurt Airport. A flight via Doha will take you back to Kathmandu, Nepal. The last 10 days have been packed with lots of sightseeing activities in various countries and you have visited some of the most exciting places and sites in Europe. For sure you will take home excellent travel memories of your once in a lifetime Europe trip. You will have experienced new things and expanded your horizont. It will help you to apply your gained knowledge in your professional future and private life. Now you may also can put this advantageous experience on your resume.


Day 14: Arrival in Kathmandu, Nepal As a travel group you will be happy to arrive at Tribhuvan Airport and meet up with your family and friends to share your travel stories and pictures with.
